Orlando Is BIG FUN

Although the madness of an Orlando vacation might seem scary at times with the number of theme parks to visit, this city has more for the visitor if they want something a little different. Orlando also has the famous International Drive which houses a huge number of attractions, shopping areas and water parks, all within a reasonable walking distance if you want a rest from driving. Whilst a vacation here has been popular for many years now, the reason to visit continues to grow as the number of facilities and attractions increases.

If you enjoy shopping then you will love Orlando, it has plenty of malls and stores like Outdoor World which is so large it contains a 17,000 gallon aquarium and you could spend all day there. Visitors with more than just a passing interest in amusement parks and similar attractions will find themselves at home on a vacation to Orlando owing to the many entertainment venues the city has to offer.

Although Zoos have taken a bit of criticism in recent years, their value to education and the preservation of species cannot be dismissed and the Central Florida Zoo in Sanford is one of these. It is actually a privately owned charitable group dedicated to the protection of exotic animals plus species that are native to Florida but also offers informative and child-friendly classes and events.

For anyone that appreciates the work of Louis Comfort Tiffany then a large collection of his works is exhibited the Museum of American Art, where it has been housed since the early 1940's. This collection comprises Tiffany art glass, clayware and ornaments plus the chapel interior designed for the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893.

No adult, despite any thoughts to the opposite, could go to Orlando and find nothing of interest as the range of attractions for both the young and old is huge. There is also plenty to do in the evening when you take an Orlando vacation with family shows like the Pirates adventure or for adults, Disney's Pleasure Island and Universals city walk.

The Orlando Science Center is another of the major attractions and its four-story center is the biggest of its kind in the Southeast, offering 10 exhibit halls that allow visitors everything from the Florida swamplands to the dry plains of Mars. Then there is the International Trolley and Train Museum where you can see toy trains from the 1920s, plus take a ride in a California Victorian-style half open/half closed trolley car.

If you have seen the Titanic - ship of Dreams film then you will enjoy the exhibition along International Drive that tells the story using large sets and depictions from the ship as a background. Lake Eola Park on the other hand has a pleasant 43 acres to stroll around and relax or perhaps a little boating on the lake.

Not all theme parks in Orlando are based purely on rides as the fantastic Seaworld will attest but if you want rides then you have the Disney resort theme parks and Universal studios too. If you are on you first Orlando vacation, try to visit all the major attractions first because it is almost certain you will return again another year.
